Admissions policy

All children aged 4+ years are able to start school in September each year.

Adswood Primary School has its own priority area and a map is attached at the back of this prospectus so that you can check whether or not you live in the area.

Parents are advised to put their child’s name down at this school as soon as possible. (The closing date for children starting school in September 2008 is 7th December 2007).

Letters offering a place in the Reception Classes will be sent, after the Christmas holiday, to all children who qualify.

If you live in the priority area you are guaranteed a place at this school so long as you accept the offer within 2 weeks.

A number of school visits will be arranged for parents and children before admission in September.

There will be an initial period of part time education but all children will be in full time education within a three-week period.

In January 2007 there were 198 pupils on roll and 30 places will be available for the Reception age group during the 2007/08 school year.

For fuller details please ask to see the school’s admission policy.

Parents may appeal if a decision is made not to admit their child to a school of their choice.
