Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education

This subject is taught within the context of family life, loving relationships and respect for others.

Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship education takes place within a carefully structured programme of Health Education and the work is carefully matched to the needs of the group as a whole.

The programme is assisted appropriately by the school nurse. Special notice is paid to the views of parents whose ethnic backgrounds and religious or other beliefs may cause them to have any reservations about such work.

Parents have the right to withdraw their children from PSHCE education lessons but first they are encouraged to read the PSHCE policy and to discuss it with the Headteacher so that any possible misunderstandings about the nature of sex education can be clarified.
